New center matches needs with volunteers

A lot of people and organizations have been pleased to hear that a new Cache Valley Volunteer Center has opened its doors, founded and operated by the United Way of Cache Valley. The center’s director, Sharalee Griffeth, says it will prove to be a tremendous resource in the community, allowing people to reach out, help and serve one another.”We really need to have a volunteer center that can help connect the people that are looking for the opportunities to volunteer with the projects that need to be done because there are many of both,” Griffeth said on KVNU’s Crosstalk show Tuesday. “Many, many projects; many, many organizations that could not run without the volunteers. Many people that want to volunteer they just don’t know where that’s at. We need to be that connecting link.”The new Volunteer Center is housed in the Bear River Association of Governments Building, Room 109 where there will be a ribbon cutting and open house on Tuesday, Nov. 15 from 12noon to 3 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
