Former fire chief Kyle Lindsay’s felony charges have been reduced to misdemeanors and he will spend ten days in jail as part of a plea deal. Lindsay, 41, resigned as fire chief in August after being arrested for a Smithfield burglary case and being suspected of prescription drug abuse. Along with Lindsay’s ten days in jail, he will spend one year on probation. He has to report to The Cache County Jail before Dec. 1 to serve his sentence. As part of a plea of abeyance and probation, Lindsay must complete intake and screening with Bear River Drug and Alcohol and complete drug and alcohol counseling as necessary. The terms of his agreement state he can only have one doctor, one pharmacy and one dentist and can only take medications as prescribed by these two doctors.
