Cache GOP chair believes Tea Party had tremendous influence on 2010 elections

How much influence did the Tea Party movement have on the 2010 mid-term elections? Cache County Republican Party Chairman David James says the Tea Party had a tremendous impact because these people talked to their neighbors and energized the voters. “Voter turnout in Utah had been on a decline, then in an off-year election to see turnout match what the turnout is in a presidential election year is good,” James says. “I lay that squarely at the feet of the Tea Party. “I think they have done a tremendous effort in just getting people excited. Whether they voted with them or against them they got people interested.” James also says those involved in the Tea Party movement helped make sure people got out to vote on November 2.
