The Utah Department of Health Bureau of Emergency Medical Services has recently designated Logan Regional Hospital as a Stroke Receiving Facility as part of the Utah Stroke System. This designation follows a site visit on October 28 by a state review team who determined that Logan Regional meets their standard of stringent criteria in receiving and treating stroke patients. Logan Regional Hospital Chief Executive Officer Michael A. Clark says this designation assures that stroke patients receive the best care in the hospital to address their illness and minimize damage caused by stroke. Clark says members of the state review team agreed the hospital has a model program for receiving stroke patients that should be shared and adopted by other hospitals in Utah.
