Air pollution to ease over northern Utah

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Forecasters are expecting northern Utah’s air quality to improve slightly after a dense fog settled over the region Sunday.The National Weather Service says a Pacific storm could help clear the air.The Utah Division of Air Quality rates Monday’s air pollution moderate – an improvement from Sunday’s red-alert day for parts of the Wasatch Front.Dense fog covered most of northern Utah Sunday, helping trap pollutants close to the ground.Salt Lake airport spokeswoman Barbara Gann told The Salt Lake Tribune that the fog delayed flight departures and arrivals by up to 45 minutes.
