Local Tea Party activists want local spending cuts

Spending has to be cut, according to representatives of the Cache Valley Tea Party Coalition. Michelle King says it needs to go way back because there was a lot of overspending in the Bush Administration as well as with President Barack Obama presently. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Tuesday, King says spending has to be cut not only on the federal level but also locally. She says that is what makes local elections so important.”This is the year. Don’t go to sleep,” King said. “Don’t say, ‘no more Senate elections for two more years.’ We’ve got city council elections coming up in Logan and there’s a lot of people upset about spending in Logan City.”Now’s the time. Fix it locally and individually and we’ll be able to make more progress as a nation as a whole.”In 2011 the terms of three municipal council members are expiring: Laraine Swenson, Jay Monson and Herm Olsen.
