Thanks to food pantry, close to 200 families will have a Christmas dinner

Tuesday was a big day at the Cache Community Food Pantry. Pantry director Matt Whittaker says because of the tight economy more families than ever came to pick up a Christmas dinner. “We had close to 200 families coming down,” Whittaker says. “They got all the trimmings for Christmas dinner. “We had Christmas presents that we had been saving throughout the year to give to little kids. We had a family come down and giveaway hot chocolate. We consider it a big success.” Whittaker says Wednesday was also a big day at the food pantry. He says many people and also businesses came in to donate food to help replenish the shelves. He says that is good because there will not be another official food drive until spring.
