Radio stations unite for Holiday Dollar Drive

Momentum is building as the Cache Valley Radio Group “Holiday Dollar Drive” heads toward a Wednesday midnight conclusion, in an effort to help Cache Valley families and children in need. Lynn Simmons, KIX-96 personality and Operations Manager at “The Radio Ranch” is coordinating the fundraiser. “For years we did an auction on KIX-96 and then we started to look for a better way to raise funds for less fortunate folks here in the Cache Valley,” said Simmons. “We came up with what we call the ‘Dollar Drive’ and we thought we could utilize our web sites here at the different radio stations of the radio group, along with Cachevalleydaily.com.” Simmons said those who can help are asked to make a secure online donation at one of the radio station web sites or at cachevalleydaily.com. “Your donation is done strictly by credit card or debit card and for every dollar you donate, you will be entered to win a huge flat screen digital TV from Lynn’s Audio and Video.” Simmons noted there is no donation necessary to be entered to win the television; otherwise it would be considered a lottery. Anyone so inclined may send a self-addressed post card to The Radio Ranch, 810 West 200 North, as another way to enter to win the TV. KVNU is involved along with Q-92, KIX-96, KOOL 103.9 and VFX. “You can go to any of those web sites and make a secure online donation of a dollar or other options of anywhere from five dollars all the way up to $100.” The goal is to provide families with “essential items” like hygiene products, new socks, diapers, formula and so forth. Simmons extended a thank you to the Cache Archers who each year conduct their 3-D Archery Shoot and charge a fee for those interested to take part in a fun shoot at the Cache County Fairgrounds and all funds raised go to the Radio Group’s “Dollar Drive”.
