2011 is a year for municipal elections and in Logan three of the five municipal council members have terms that expire this year.New Council Chairman Herm Olsen is starting the fourth year of his first four year-term as a member of the Logan Municipal Council. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Wednesday, he was asked if he would seek a second term. Olsen’s answer: “Ask me again in six months.””I’m probably willing to,” Olsen continued. “If I thought there were some top notch people that basically say, ‘Hey, you’ve been there long enough, bud. Get the heck out and we want to move in.’ “And if I felt good about their tendencies I’d be willing to take a hard look at that.”Olsen says, unfortunately, it looks like the other two council members (Jay Monson and Laraine Swenson) who’s terms are expiring do not plan to run again. He says there is something to say about institutional memory and having some kind of continuity on the council.
