New Year-New You: that is the theme for the first annual Health Fair and Career Day hosted by the Stevens-Henager College Logan campus Friday. Outreach Director Brad Sorenson says the event runs from 12 noon to 6 p.m. and the college is located at 755 South Main in Logan. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Wednesday, Sorenson said Intermountain Healthcare’s LifeFlight helicopter will be landing at the parking lot of the campus between 3:45 and 4:25 p.m., depending on emergencies or weather. Logan City will also have its biggest fire truck there along with ambulance and home safety information.”Cache Valley Specialty Hospital has really, really become excited about this event,” Sorenson exclaimed, “and has brought together some screenings that I didn’t even realize were available. “The one that I think that I’m most excited about, and mention first, is that they will be bringing up a machine that is down in Salt Lake with one of the hospitals down there that will measure plaque in your arteries.”He says other screenings include cholesterol, blood pressure, audiology, sleep apnea and many others which will be available and all are complimentary, except for flu shots which will cost only $5.Sorenson says those attending the Health Fair will have a chance to learn more about degrees offered at Stevens-Henager, especially those in the health care field such as CNA, MA, practical radiology, pharmacy technician, phlebotomy technician, insurance and coding technician, patient care technician and nursing associate degree available on the Ogden campus.
