A prominent local businessman, Keith Watkins, died Tuesday at the age of 85. Watkins was a longtime resident of Providence and also a longtime owner of Watkins Printing until he and his wife LaVona turned the company over to their family when they left on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1991.Upon his return, according to Watkins’ obituary, he set up an old printing equipment museum next to his home. Watkins was a Marine veteran of World War II and later remained active in veterans affairs. Helping to build a Veterans Monument in Providence was one of his proudest accomplishments.Watkins served two terms on the Providence City Council. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 12 at 12 noon at the Providence 1st Ward chapel.
