Utah State football announces home-and-home series with UNLV

LOGAN, Utah — Utah State football will face UNLV in a home-and-home series beginning in 2012 at Logan; it was announced Thursday by both schools’ athletics departments.The Aggies will host the Rebels on Sept. 29, 2012 at Merlin Olsen Field at Romney Stadium, before making the return trip to Las Vegas on Sept. 28, 2013.Utah State is 12-7 all-time against UNLV, but the Aggies have lost the last two meetings, last playing in 2008. USU and UNLV were fellow Big West Conference foes from 1984-95.Utah State football will conduct the first of its 15 spring practices on March 23 and conclude spring drills with the annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 23.USU head coach Gary Andersen is entering his third spring at the helm of the Aggie program, and Andersen and his staff will conduct spring camp on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday rotation, weather permitting. The lone exception is the Spring Game on Saturday, April 23, which is the final practice of the spring.All practices are scheduled for Merlin Olsen Field at Romney Stadium, but will shift to the Stan Laub Indoor Facility if there is inclement weather. Practices are currently scheduled to be open to the public, but are subject to change.All practices are tentatively open to the public, but they must remain off the field.
