While the flat economy meant less tourism in many other places, the number of people who visited Cache Valley in 2010 actually increased. Cache Valley Visitors Bureau Director Julie Hollist told the Cache County Council last week that it was a year for making inroads into the international market, especially the French markets.”We have been featured for the first time in several of their publications,” Hollist told the council. “When people over there are planning vacations to come to Utah and Yellowstone and Jackson from Salt Lake City, for the first time Logan is going to be featured as a place and a recommendation as a place to stop and stay over along the way. We have been working toward that for a number of years now.”Hollist says the Visitors Bureau will be translating some of its materials into French, German and Italian because of the interest now being shown in those markets.
