Officials from throughout N. Utah gather to discuss canal reconstruction

The Natural Resources Conservation Service has prepared a draft environmental impact statement regarding the Logan Northern Canal reconstruction project and the statement will be reviewed at a joint meeting of local elected officials on Tuesday, March 29.Those participating in the meeting are members of the Cache County Council, the Logan Municipal Council, and members of the Hyde Park, Smithfield and North Logan councils as well. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room of the Cache County Administration Building, 179 North Main in Logan.Also, Stacie Adams, a State Department of Environmental Quality representative, will discuss the state’s implementation plan on air quality. A Utah Department of Transportation official will also talk about a proposed 2000 West road closure.
