Rob Rusnack named Associate Athletics Director for Business Affairs at Utah State University

LOGAN, Utah – Rob Rusnack has joined the Utah State Athletics Department as an Associate Athletics Director for Business Affairs it was announced Friday. Rusnack replaces Jeff Crosbie who took a similar position on the USU campus. Rusnack comes to Utah State after spending the past fours years as Associate Athletics Director for Budget and Planning/Chief Financial Officer at Columbia University where he oversaw the development and submission of the annual budget and monitored the financial performance of 31 sports programs. “I am extremely excited to be a part of the Utah State Athletics family,” said Rusnack. “I look forward to bringing my experiences from an Ivy League Athletics Department to Utah State where athletics and academics play an integral role in a nationally recognized athletics program. I would like to thank Director of Athletics Scott Barnes for giving me the opportunity to bring my family to Logan and work for Utah State University.” Rusnack also worked for the Columbia University Management and Budget Office where he supervised the University’s central administrative budget; over $600 million in operating revenues and expenses. He also managed the operations and budget submissions of 30 administrative units including the Athletics Department. Prior to his arrival at Columbia University, Rusnack spent 12 years at the Weill Medical Center of Cornell University, where he served many roles including Director of Special Projects and analyst roles in the Medical Center’s Budget Office. “We are thrilled to have someone with Rob’s experience and skill join our staff,” said Scott Barnes, Utah State Director of Athletics. “He brings a unique perspective having first worked in central administration in addition to his last four years in intercollegiate athletics, where he made a very successful transition and was promoted to Associate Athletics Director and Chief Financial Officer. We are delighted to have Rob and his family join the Aggie family.” A native of upstate New York, Rusnack attended Ithaca College and the University of Phoenix where he completed his undergrad degree in finance and business administration. -USU-
