Guests of the “Matinee Enchantee” at the Thatcher-Young Mansion will experience an afternoon of magic and music Saturday. The 2 p.m. will feature magician Richard Hatch, his wife and violinist Rosemary and their son Jonathan on the piano. Richard, who is the co-owner of the Hatch Academy of Magic and Music, said the 75-minute program is unique. “There are magical solos when I”m performing without musical accompaniment, or musical solos when there’s no magical accompaniment,” Richard said, “but what makes it different and really unique is where it’s an ensemble performance with Rosemary on violin, our son Jonathan in this case on piano, and myself performing magic, all three of us performing simultaneously.” The Hatches first performed their program at the Puppet House Theatre in Stony Creek, Conn., in 1983. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show, they said matinees will be hosted the second Saturday of each month at the Thatcher-Young Mansion.
