April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and for the second week the Child and Family Support Center is sponsoring activities that will increase awareness and help fund the valuable programs at the center.Development Director Lee Dean said the largest fundraiser of the year is the Sixth Annual Blue Ribbon Benefit Dinner and Auction, to be held Friday, April 15, at the Coppermill Restaurant. She said the theme this year is “The Wild Wild West” and there will be a gourmet dinner, live music, dancing and a live and silent auction.Dean said Saturday’s the day for the First Annual Princess Party, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Riverwoods.”All princesses out in our community are invited to attend this event. It’s going to be a lot of fun. We have some princesses. We have a variety of activities we’ll hold that day,” Dean said. Dean said the Princess Party is for all girls ages 2 to 102, and it’s a chance for them to wear a “princess dress.” More information about the fundraisers can be found on the Child and Family Support Center’s website, www.cachecfsc.org, or by calling 752-8880.
