USU museum hosting lectures, displays about Japanese internment in America

On Saturday, April 16 the Utah State University Museum of Anthropology is hosting “Topaz: Japanese Internment in America.” The event features three lectures by Jane Beckwith, director of the Topaz Museum at 11 a.m, 1 p.m and 3 p.m.There will be displays of artifacts and art from prisoners of the internment camp. Patrons can also participate in creating Japanese lanterns and a What to Pack activity. Program Coordinator Melissa Allen says Topaz was a dark time in American history and the museum is proud to share the experience with the public.
