Blacksmith Fork River floods trailer park, other areas (with photos)

A rainstorm from the Pacific Northwest descended on Northern Utah Sunday night and has continued dropping water throughout Monday, causing flooding in several areas of Cache Valley. The National Weather Service has issued flood watches for the Logan River, Blacksmith Fork River and Little Bear River. The worst-affected area so far seems to be the Riverside RV Park on 1700 South in Logan, just across from the Country Manor neighborhood. The park is filled with water and rising as crews work to divert the water downstream and save the camper trailers from being flooded. Country Manor seems to be withstanding the river flow due to preventative sandbagging by Logan City on Saturday, but is having problems with increased ground water. The confluence of the Blacksmith Fork and Logan Rivers has caused water to exceed the banks and flow onto the Logan River Golf Course and on to Park Avenue. Traffic narrowed to one lane for some time as Logan City trucks added dirt to the side of the road. Both lanes of traffic are now open but there is significant standing water and motorists are encouraged to decrease speeds. The bridge at 2900 South in Millville is closed as crews clear debris that piled up under the bridge, causing flooding in low-lying areas along the Blacksmith Fork River.Nibley City manager Larry Anhder says Nibley has been monitoring the rivers in Nibley all night and as of now they are confident the streams, though high, will stay in their banks in Nibley. Nibley City is ready with over 3000 sandbags filled and stored, and if they need people to put out sandbags, they will notify the public. Anhder says there is only minimal flooding so far.To see current conditions of the Blacksmith Fork River,
