USU Football Blue-White Spring Game Saturday

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State football will wrap up spring drills with the annual Blue-White Spring Game on Saturday, April 23. Action starts at 2 p.m. at Merlin Olsen Field at Romney Stadium.The Blue team will be coached by USU President Stan Albrecht while the White team will be under the leadership of USU Provost Raymond Coward. In addition to the Aggie players, the USU coaching staff, equipment staff and athletic training staff will also be divided. The first half will be under regular game clock operation while the second half will be a running clock format. The only special teams that will take place will be field goals and extra punts. If a team needs to “punt,” if on its own half of the field then the ball will be moved 40 yards, but only 20 yards if on the other team’s side of midfield. Following the Spring Game, fans can mingle and get autographs from the players on Merlin Olsen Field.Saturday’s Spring Game wraps up a busy day of activities, which includes a football alumni gathering, HURD Bowl II, a USU softball game and an Aggie soccer alumni gathering and tournament.USU soccer will be holding its annual alumni game on Saturday as well, at the football practice field, located south of the Chuck & Gloria Bell Soccer Field and the Laub Indoor Practice Facility. Opening ceremonies featuring roughly 40 alumni, including recognition of two alumni from the class of 2000, will take place at 9 a.m. with matches starting at 9:15 a.m. Matches are slated for 25 minutes long and a small-sided with a mixture of current Aggie players playing alongside the Aggie alumni, before the alumni will take on the current USU team at 11:15 a.m. A bounce house will be on hand for children to play in. Utah State softball will conclude its three-game Western Athletic Conference series with a single game at Noon on Saturday at LaRee and LeGrand Johnson Field, as the Aggies will be facing the Bulldogs of Fresno State to conclude their three-game series, which opened Friday afternoon. At 1 p.m. on Saturday, there will be a tour of the Jim and Carol Laub Athletics-Academics Complex for the USU Football alumni group.The USU Ticket Office will be open at the South Ticket Office at Romney Stadium from 1 – 4 p.m. for Aggie football season ticket renewals as well as taking new orders.
