Former Logan residents, families of 9/11 victims, react to bin Laden death

Former Logan resident Mary Alice Wahlstrom died along with her daughter Carolyn Beug in the 9/11 attacks as passengers on the first plane that crashed into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Her daughter-in-law, Margaret Wahlstrom, a Kaysville resident, says she and her husband Norman, Jr. did not feel like celebrating when they heard Osama bin Laden had been killed. Unfortunately, she says, there are other leaders that have taken up bin Laden’s battle cry. Mary Alice Wahlstrom was married to retired Col. Norm Wahlstrom, a former member of the Logan Municipal Council. They were living in Kaysville near family members at the time of the 9/11 event. Margaret Wahlstrom told the Salt Lake Tribune we all need to try to do enough good to counteract some of the bad.
