The City of Logan is in a good financial position according to Mayor Randy Watts. In his budget message Tuesday night, Watts said he is pleased to report signs of improvement in the local, state and national economies. Watts said although we still face significant difficulties and too many of our citizens are struggling financially, we are hopeful we have turned a corner and will continue to see incremental growth. The mayor says the city has many more needs than resources but, “due to our conservative approach to revenues and expenditures there are reserves in the general fund as well as in other funds.” “We need to build reserves,” Watts continued, “particularly in our electric and water and sewer funds and to prepare for future projects and unforeseen emergencies.” Copies of the mayor’s proposed budget can be accessed at the Logan Library and also on
