Beginning Friday, May 13 the Bear River Health Department will be open on Fridays. Hours on Fridays will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Friday hours will be in addition to the department’s current Monday through Thursday 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. schedule.According to the health department, the extra day will allow the community to have more access to key public health services, including: WIC, substance abuse treatment appointments, immunizations, birth and death certificates, and environmental health services.”We are here to serve the public,” says Lloyd Berentzen, Director and Health Officer of the Bear River Health Department. “We are always looking for better ways to do this and hope that providing increased availability will help us work towards this goal.”While the Bear River Health Department will now be available five days a week, with evening hours continuing Monday through Thursday, the department’s disease investigation team, substance abuse crisis line, hazmat, and public information are always available 24/7. The department will continue to assess the needs of the public to continually improve services.
