Two longtime employees of Franklin County will be out of a job on May 31. Franklin County Commission Chairman Dirk Bowles says tough economic times have made it necessary to trim the number of custodians whose work will now be done under contract.Bowles told the Preston Citizen newspaper that this was an extremely difficult decision and both Chuck Sistrunk and Vicki Martin have been excellent employees. Bowles estimates the county will save up to $75,000 annually by eliminating the two custodian jobs.
