Summerfest a celebration of many different arts

Fine art, great food, entertainment and children’s activities. They will all be there in abundance when the 28th Annual Summerfest Arts Faire opens on Thursday, June 16 and continues through Saturay June 18. Executive Director Marianne Sidwelll says around 60,000 people are expected to gather on the Logan Tabernacle grounds for the popular free event. Sidwell says the mission of Summerfest is to celebrate the arts.”It’s a celebration of all different arts, visual arts and performing arts and even culinary arts,” Sidwell said on KVNU’s Crosstalk show Wednesday. “And that’s what we really want to get across. We want to bring the arts to everyone and that’s why it’s a free event. “Anyone can come, any walks of life and we hope that everyone will, not just to purchase art, but just to experience the beauties of art and we want as many people as possible to have that opportunity.”Sidwell said the hours are Thursday from noon until 10 p.m. and then from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
