Cache County Jail achieves first-in the-nation accreditation

The Cache County Jail has achieved 100 percent compliance in voluntarily participating with the National Sheriffs Association Jail Accreditation Pilot Program. Cache County is the first in the nation to achieve accreditation recognition through the national pilot program. It is offered through the NSA Jail Training Initiative which was established in cooperation with the Utah Sheriffs Association. Sheriff Lynn Nelson says the accreditation was based on compliance to 594 legal-based guidelines as a means to assist jails to become safer, more secure and pro-actively protect themselves against liability.
