Lemon: Biggest concern is Logan Canyon

A lot of rain fell on Cache County over the Memorial Day weekend but despite all the rain things are looking up as far as flooding is concerned. Cache County Executive Lynn Lemon says he was told by Road Supervisor Darrell Erickson that East Canyon Road going up to Porcupine Reservoir will probably open today. He says the water has stopped running over the road, some repairs have been made and it will be closely monitored as we get warmer weather.”I think there is really a sense that we are past the highest waters in the Blacksmith Fork,” Lemon says. “Our biggest concern is Logan Canyon. “So I think at least as far as the county is concerned we are trying to just take precautions and encourage people that have property along the Logan River to make sure that they do whatever they can to reinforce their banks and to reinforce their properties.”Lemon says Rich County Commissioner Bill Cox told him Wednesday that Bear Lake is rising by an inch a day and the area got three inches of rain over the weekend.
