Cache Valley real estate magnate favoring Romney over Huntsman

He was part of Mitt Romney’s campaign in 2008 and Cache Valley realtor and developer Jack Nixon says he feels even more strongly this year that Romney should be the next president of the United States. Nixon told KVNU Tuesday that he is once again on Romney’s Finance Committee and he expects the Republican candidate to come to Logan during the campaign. Nixon said he felt Romney was the clear winner in Monday night’s Republican Presidential debate. “I like him,” Nixon explained. “I think he’s a guy whose been around the block when it comes to running businesses and that’s where I think that most of my support for him comes. “He’s got the experience of meeting the payroll. He knows what it is to have to face the tax collector.” Nixon says Romney was able to deflect any innuendos that could have been negative when they were aimed at him during the debate. Although he prefers Romney, Nixon also knows Jon Huntsman, Jr. who is announcing his candidacy for President next Tuesday. Nixon says Huntsman is also a great guy, but… “I don’t see the presidential air in him that Romney has,” Nixon continued. “Of course, Romney’s been around the block once on this and he’s redefined his approach, probably, but Jon Huntsman is a fine person also.” Although Huntsman served as governor of Utah and Romney has never lived in Utah, Nixon thinks Romney will be more popular in the Utah because of the great job he did with the 2002 Winter Olympics.
