Residents and business owners in Logan continue to worry as Logan River water levels rise, threatening to cause more flooding in an already soggy county. With a few more sunny days, the About Time Antique Mall and neighboring RoundRocks Fly Fishing store, both of which sit along the Logan River, could be at risk of flooding. The owners decided to take preventative action and put up sandbags Thursday afternoon. Connie Tibbits, owner of the antique mall, said, “I have an antique store, and I have 35 dealers in there that have stuff everywhere. If it floods, the antiques – it would be really tragic. They would be ruined.” Tibbits said family members and antique dealers came out Thursday afternoon to help sandbag along the river, behind the small string of businesses located on Main Street near 500 South. Sandbagging took about two hours to complete. Now all that Tibbits can do is wait to see if the river gets high enough to flood. “So I just hope that it doesn’t, I hope and pray that it doesn’t,” she said.
