Northern Utah reservoir full, begins spilling over

OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Authorities in northern Utah say Pineview Reservoir has begun releasing water over its spillway though not enough to cause downstream flooding on the Ogden River.The National Weather Service has issued flood warnings for other major rivers along the Wasatch Front as hotter temperatures have increased the amount of snow melting at high elevations.The Weber River from Weber Canyon to the Great Salt Lake could reach flood stage by Thursday evening. Its current level is just over 21 feet. Flood stage on that stretch of the river is 27 feet.Big Cottonwood Creek south of Salt Lake City could exceed its flow by Wednesday evening and Little Cottonwood Creek by Thursday afternoon. The Upper Duchesne River, Provo River and Upper Bear River all are forecast to flood by Friday.
