Meaker resigns after one month with Brigham City fire

Interim Brigham City Fire Chief Mark Meaker has resigned as of July 1 after serving in his new position for just one month. The retired Logan City Fire Chief told Brigham City officials that the time constraints on him between his commitments to the city, his family and volunteer obligations were too demanding to be sustainable. Meaker says he has arranged for special testing and training activities that have started and will continue. Meaker has also offered to consult with the city as needed. Brigham City Mayor Dennis Fife says the city is grateful for Chief Meaker sharing his experience and suggestions for the organizational changes.
