27 year-old John Porter of Logan died Wednesday night following a collision with three vehicles in Clearfield. The Salt Lake Tribune reports that Porter was northbound on Main Street near 691 North at about 6 p.m. when he accelerated, changed lanes to pass a vehicle and apparently lost control.Porter struck a vehicle that was stopped in the southbound left-turn lane. He was thrown from his motorcycle, flew into the air and struck the front bumper of a second vehicle waiting to turn left. Police say Porter then rolled into a southbound lane of traffic where he was struck by yet another vehicle. He was taken by ambulance to McKay Dee Hospital where he later passed away in he presence of family members.
