It was a great ski year at Beaver Mountain, according to Ted Seeholzer, owner of the ski resort in Logan Canyon along with his wife Marge. It was one of the earliest openings ever for the mountain, December 3, and Seeholzer says that helped make it a fantastic season. One major problem, however, came late in the season when the Little Beaver lift derailed. Fortunately, no one was hurt but Seeholzer says with the cost involved in re-building that lift it was decided to pursue a new Little Beaver Lift.”It’ll be in a little different location,” Seeholzer explains. “It will be longer. It will open up more terrain. It’s a triple; it will almost double the capacity of that lift and we’re just pleased as punch it’s going along as well as it is. “We had to push snow to do our line profiles and those things and clear some trees out of the way to do the profile but the lift is being manufactured in Salt Lake City as we speak.”Seeholzer says there will be more terrain at that location, more lights will go in and, in his words, “it will be a big, big plus for our night program.”
