BOISE, Idaho (AP) – Idaho’s schedule for 2011 doesn’t include a game against in-state rival Boise State, marking the first season in 40 years the two teams haven’t faced each other. And now, hopes the Idaho Vandals and Boise State Broncos will revive their rivalry next year are also dim. Idaho athletic director Rob Spear told reporters Thursday he is close to completing contracts for Idaho’s nonconference schedule during the 2012 season and the Broncos aren’t on the list, which eliminates the possibility the two teams will square off next year. The Idaho Statesman reports Spear said: “It’s safe to say we won’t be playing in 2012.” The matchup was ditched this year due to Boise State’s move to the Mountain West Conference. The Vandals remain in the Western Athletic Conference.
