Logan City places moratorium on electronic signs

On a three to two vote Logan’s Municipal Council Tuesday night agreed to a five month moratorium on electronic message display signs. The vote came after several business owners spoke out against a moratorium saying that could appear to be like an “unwelcome” sign. But some council members said so many requests for the signs have been coming in that some time is needed to study the issue further. Those voting for the moratorium were council chairman Herm Olsen, Holly Daines and Laraine Swenson with Jay Monson and Dean Quayle voting no. Logan Mayor Randy Watts also said he felt a moratorium was unnecessary.
