Air quality is Olsen’s top priority for Logan

There are 13 people running for three seats on the Logan Municipal Council but local attorney Herm Olsen is the only candidate currently serving on the council. After serving one term, Olsen says he would like to help the city continue to do the good things it is doing, including staying in great shape financially. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Tuesday, Olsen said his top goal for the next four years is the same as it was for the last four years: improving air quality. He says it is all tied to emissions and cars. “It’s all tied together,” Olsen said. “We’re gonna have to start utilizing our transit system, Cache Valley Transit, the system that we’ve got in place which is truly a gem. It’s almost an undiscovered treasure. “We’re going to have to start driving less and walking more, carpooling more. These are not easy things when we’re used to getting into our car and driving right to within 10 feet of the door we want to get into.” He says this is the key to keeping Logan the beautiful treasure it now is. Olsen practices what he preaches. He rides his bicycle almost everywhere he goes.
