BLUFFDALE, Utah (AP) — More than a dozen Utah veterans who died years after their service and whose remains haven’t been claimed by family have been honored with a full military service.Monday’s ceremonies featured a procession that included about 80 motorcycles, followed by a 21-gun salute and the playing of Taps at Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park in Bluffdale. The service was organized by the Missing in America Project as part of a national initiative to locate unburied or unclaimed cremated remains of veterans and provide military burials. The remains of 15 men and one woman who served in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s have been stored at Deseret Mortuary. A Utah trucker came forward Monday to claim the ashes of his older brother after hearing his name was among those listed.
