SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A yellow air alert has been issued for six Utah counties. The Utah Department of Environmental Quality is issuing a yellow air alert Box Elder, Davis, Salt Lake, Tooele and Weber counties. The alert is in place throughout the day Wednesday. The Bear River Health Department has also issued a yellow air warning for Cache County. Motorists are asked to voluntarily reduce their driving during a yellow air alert. The elderly, young children and people with lung disorders are encouraged to limit their outdoor activities. Health officials say the dirty air is partially caused by smoke blowing into the state from a wildfire near Pocatello, Idaho, that had burned more than 1,300 acres Tuesday.
