Ariz. teen dies practicing for Utah motocross race at Powder Mountain

EDEN, Utah (AP) — An Arizona teen practicing for a weekend motocross race in northern Utah has died after he crashed during a warm-up lap.Authorities say 16-year-old Dylan Perkins of Surprise, Ariz., suffered fatal head, neck and internal injuries in the crash 11 a.m. Thursday at Powder Mountain ski resort near Eden, Utah.Perkins was preparing for the 3rd Annual Monster Energy Powder Mountain Motocross racing event set for the weekend when he lost control of the motorcycle. His parents were at the track when the accident happened.Perkins was wearing a helmet and other protective gear.Resort officials say about 200 other racers were at the track Thursday.
