A lot of people will be headed for the local canyons over the Labor Day holiday weekend. Kathy Jo Pollock, information officer for the Uintah-Wasatch-Cache National Forest, says campgrounds, picnic areas, trails and roads are open on the Logan Ranger District with one exception. That exception is the Providence Canyon road which will remain closed to motorized vehicles due to flood damage. Pollock reminds forest users to make sure their camp fires are out and cold to the touch even though there are no general fire restrictions in place.
