More than 1,000 bicyclists from across the United States and two countries will depart at dawn Saturday morning competing in the 29th annual LOTOJA bicycle race. Racers ride from Logan, Utah to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Most of the route in Utah will be off main line state roads, although cyclists will travel over some sections of State Road 30 west of Logan, State Road 218 west of Smithfield and State Road 61 and State Road 200 in the Lewiston area before passing into Idaho on their route to Jackson Hole. Utah Department of Transportation officials are urging motorists to be alert for individual and large groups of cyclists traveling together and share the road with them. Extreme care should be used when passing large groups of cyclists.
