Logan City endorses anti-pornography resolution

Members of the Logan Municipal Council Tuesday night approved a resolution endorsing FTND, and that stands for “Fight The New Drug.” One of the founders of the organization, Clay Olsen, said the education outreach program is to let young people know the harmful effects of pornography. “It’s a sensitive topic, incredibly sensitive,” Olsen told the council. “We’ve put a lot of time and energy and resources into maintaining that sensitivity in addressing this topic where it’s a very large issue among teens. “They are the largest group of users. The state of Utah has the highest percentage of paid (pornography) subscriptions in the entire United States.” Olsen says assemblies have been conducted at some of Utah’s schools, more have been scheduled and the FTND program has been endorsed by the state’s superintendents, County Attorney James Swink and other state and local leaders.
