Temple Grandin visits USU

Temple Grandin, a professor of Animal Science at Colorado State University who is called the most well-known adult with autism in the world, visited Utah State University Tuesday afternoon. In preparation for her visit, USU’s College of Agriculture showed the HBO film “Temple Grandin” Monday night in the Taggart Student Center. The film stars Claire Danes and depicts Grandin’s life. Grandin gave two lectures while at USU Tuesday – one on autism spectrum disorder and another on improving animal welfare – and also took time to sign books and take pictures with those in attendance. Grandin told the audience at USU Tuesday, “The worst thing parents can do for kids with autism is nothing.”
