Everyone is invited to usher in the Christmas season in downtown Logan Friday evening by participating in the Cache Valley Center for the Arts’ Gallery Walk. There will be at east 18 locations where people can enjoy everything from culinary gingerbread masterpieces to artwork by some of Cache Valley’s finest.The gallery Walk is from 6 to 9 p.m. and people can get a map at any of the participating locations. Participating businesses include the Cache Valley Visitors Bureau, Cafe Ibis, The Diamond Gallery, Global Village Gifts, The Italian Place, Logan Arthouse and Cinema, Logan Downtown Alliance, Logan Fine Art, Designs at the Thatcher-Young Mansion, Sego Event Planning and Floral Design, S. E. Needham Jewelers, The Sportsman, St. John’s Episcopal Church, Utah Public Radio Studio, Winborg Masterpieces Art Gallery and Winter Gift Market.Local photographer Scott Smith will be signing copies of his new book “Images of Cache Valley” from 6 to 9 at the Cache Valley Visitors Bureau, 199 North Main, as part of the Downtown Gallery Walk. Smith will also provide a short lecture and presentation of his photos at 7 p.m. Smith says the 88 page volume contains 140 of his favorite photographs selected from 25 years of photographing Cache Valley.The project was published by Watkins Printing and the soft cover publication sells for $14.95. Smith’s photography has taken him around the world but he says Cache Valley is one of the most diverse and photogenic places he has ever photographed. The book is available at the Cache Valley Visitors Burueau Gift Shop in the Historic Cache County Court House, the Book Table and Watkins Printing.
