James: Sen. Hatch may still be best for Utah

Will U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch have a challenger in the 2012 election? Utah State Senator Dan Liljenquist has expressed an interest. Former Cache County Republican Chairman David James says he was told by Liljenquist two or three weeks ago that he was 80 to 90 percent sure that he would run. James says he has mixed feelings about that.”I recognize and understand that Senator Hatch’s record has been up and down as far as conservatism goes,” James said. “But I do believe that Senator Hatch has a grasp on the issues we are facing.”And I do believe that he is very pointed at finding true solutions, that he will represent the people of the state Utah. If Senator Liljenquist decides to enter the race I’ll have to look at him closely.”James says he does feel that Hatch has been moving his positions on important issues facing the country. He says it may take a stable, experienced person like Hatch to help meet those challenges.
