POSTGAME QUOTES Utah State vs. UT Arlington Dec. 20, 2011

Utah State Head Coach Stew Morrill…”We’ll take it and move on to tomorrow. Any win for our team right now, we’re going to be happy about. The end leaves a little bit of a sour taste in your mouth, but I was pretty pleased with our second half performance. Obviously, we need to turn the ball over less, but the other team did a good job. They’re hard to play. They throw that zone at you, then switch and press you. They do a good job of forcing turnovers. It’s a credit to them for that. Obviously, if they’re going to play that much zone it helps if you have some guys to shoot it in. Preston (Medlin) had a huge night; he’s playing awfully well right now. I think when we got a couple dunks and got a big lead we kind of relaxed a little bit.. You can always explain how you piddle away a lead, but we got a win. We’ll take it and try and get ready for Saint Peter’s. It’s a quick turnaround. This group hasn’t experienced that so we’ll see how we respond. I think we’re tired, but we’re excited to play tomorrow. We’ll see how we do. It’s a challenge for us for sure. I don’t know enough about them to talk a lot.” UT Arlington Head Coach Scott Cross…”We had some guys hit some shots; it really wasn’t as close a game as the score indicated there at the end of the game. We hit a couple of shots down the stretch, and they had a couple of turnovers late. It was a bigger loss than what the score turned out, you have got to give them credit, they do a heck of a job. They are unbelievably well coached; no matter what defense we were in, they got something. They attack; they hit the open shooters and they knocked down their shots. Preston Medlin, what can you say about that? The guy has skills. We tried everything defensively to get stops and at times we did a good job. This was a good learning experience for our guys.” —–
