Raising Caine, a musical concert hosted by the Caine College of the Arts, is among the multiple offerings of the college’s Arts Week at Utah State University. And, according to Craig Jessop, dean of the Caine College of the Arts, if this year’s offering lives up to last year the audience is in for a rollicking good time. The concert features music department faculty, staff and students. Jessop says it will be a grand display of the talent that thrives in the Caine College of the Arts. Considering the concert’s popularity last year, two performances will be provided this year at the USU Performance Hall. The concert is Wednesday, January 18 with the first performance at 6 p.m. and the second at 8 p.m. Jessop says the theme for the evening is fun and while the program selections show the lighter side of the department, the music is for real.Following the first Raising Caine performance, work produced by USU sculpture students working with first year professor Ryoichi Suzuki will be unveiled. The unveiling is free and open to the public.
