Log Cabin Republicans presenting different side of GOP at USU

The Utah State University College Republicans will be having their regular Pizza and Politics Series on February 9 at 4 p.m. They will be hosting James Humphreys, Vice President of the Utah Chapter of Log Cabin Republicans. Humphreys will be giving a short lecture at the series and will then participate in a question and answer period. Jenner Black, spokesperson for the USU College Republicans, says listening to James Humphreys will be an opportunity for people to get a different view when it comes to politics. The event will be held at Merril-Cazier Library Room 101, which is a different location than previous Pizza and Politics events. Pizza will be provided without charge and admission is free. Community members and students are all encouraged to attend the event. In the past, the USU College Republicans have hosted Utah Governor Gary Herbert, former U.S. Senator Jake Garn and U.S. Senator Orrin Hatch as guest speakers in their Pizza and Politics series. Black says this event has been really successful in the past. He says when Governor Herbert came, close to 200 people showed up to the event. It is usually pretty evenly split between students and community members who attend. The Pizza and Politics event is hosted monthly and tries to let people know about the Republican Party.
