Cache education board approves proposals for house on Sky View property, old church in River Heights

The Cache County School District Board of Education passed two proposals at its meeting Thursday night, one dealing with a house on Sky View Property and the other dealing with an old church in River Heights. The first proposal allows the special education department to look into renovating a house for it’s post high school program for participants ages 18 to 22. The house sits on Sky View High School property, was built in the 1970s and currently is used for storage. It is in need of exterior and interior repairs. The special education department will look into fixing the house up, but if renovation costs are too high, the house will be sold and moved from Sky View property and the site restored to a lawn area. The second proposal approved Thursday deals with an old church in River Heights. Currently, the church is used for storage, particularly for the Festival Opera Company (FOC). The board voted to update the current lease agreement and to put the property up for sale this October. The FOC’s administration has already expressed interest in buying the church.
