POST-GAME QUOTES Utah State vs. Idaho

Utah State Head Coach Stew Morrill…”Good senior night, obviously. We got way down, and I am real proud of our guys for hanging in there mentally and playing. We had a really good crowd; it was good to see the Spectrum crowd like it usually is. That was certainly a factor. We got going and the crowd got going. We had a really good second half, Preston Medlin made some shots, obviously that helped, but we guarded well. It is always interesting when you are going through a tough spell, everybody has you not winning another game and all of those kind of things, and I am proud of our guys for finding a way to win on senior night. It was a good deal.” Senior Forward Morgan Grim…”We went on that 8-0 run going into the end of the first half, and we could just feel the momentum coming. We were playing good defense and got a guy in double figures. It was nice to get the ball in after not really getting it in during the first half. I don’t really care as long as someone is scoring points. Defense starts at the point, same as offense does and Brockeith (Pane) just started getting at his guy. It just gave our defense life. We see him out there going hard, and we all want to work hard for him.” Idaho Head Coach Don Verlin…”They dominated us in the second half. I thought that in the first half we played really well for about the first 15 minutes. We made a couple mistakes there at the end, letting them go on an 8-0 run. We went into the break 29-22 and kind of let some momentum slip away. You’ve got to give them credit. They made some good adjustments at halftime, and they came out and just really physically dominated us in every aspect of the game. We just didn’t get the defensive stops we needed to stay in this basketball game. They did a nice job executing their offense. I thought they did a good job of getting Medlin the ball. Medlin stepped up like the player he is. We made a few mistakes in our defensive coverages, and boom, they get ahead, they get the momentum and with this crowd, that’s how it goes.”
